The intimacy of our approach creates opportunities impossible in larger settings:

Alison McMaster, Travel Adviser, Travel Expert, Travel Planner, Small Group Travel, MPE
  • Unique accommodations: We book charming, locally-owned properties that traditional tour groups can’t access.
  • Deeper learning: Smaller groups allow expert guides to provide personalized insights and answer your specific questions.
  • Genuine support: Our Travel Concierge is available to help with dietary needs, personalized recommendations, and logistics.
  • Flexibility within structure: Enjoy the security of organized logistics with the freedom to opt out and explore on your own terms.

What many travelers don’t realize is that on most of our trips, you’re merely sharing a few key experiences—ones you’d likely choose anyway—and convenient transfers with your fellow travelers. Beyond those touchpoints, you have full autonomy to explore, dine, and experience at your own pace. It’s the perfect balance of structure and independence.

Tailored to Your Needs

We also offer complete flexibility for groups who already know who they want to travel with. Any of our itineraries can be bought out entirely for your friends, family, or colleagues. Alternatively, we can duplicate any journey for your private group, adjusting dates to suit your schedule.

The beauty lies in saving precious time and effort. We handle the countless hours of research, the stress of coordinating logistics, and the uncertainty of booking in unfamiliar destinations. You simply show up and enjoy the seamless experience we’ve crafted.

Who Thrives in Our Groups?

Our travelers are typically curious souls between 35-75+ who value learning, culinary exploration, and meaningful experiences. Many come solo, others as couples or with friends. What they share is an open mind and a desire for travel that balances independence with connection.

They’re often people who, like me, once dismissed group travel entirely. They want immersive experiences without the headaches of planning every detail themselves. They seek the confidence of traveling with experienced leaders while maintaining their autonomy.

From Skeptic to Believer

I built this division of MPE because I wanted to travel differently—to create the experience I couldn’t find elsewhere and make extraordinary destinations more accessible to independent travelers. Now, I can’t imagine exploring the world any other way. There’s something magical about sharing discoveries with others who appreciate them equally, about forming connections across backgrounds and generations united by the simple joy of exploring somewhere new.

If you’ve avoided group travel because of what you thought it was, I invite you to reconsider. Not all group experiences are created equal. Some, like ours, are designed specifically for travelers who never thought they’d enjoy traveling with others.

Join us. Discover the difference of small group travel reimagined. I promise: no flags, no 6 AM wake-up calls (unless you want them), and no cookie-cutter experiences—just authentic travel made better through thoughtful companionship.
